Banklink API
The Banklink API gives access to users' bank accounts through one unified API. It is based on PSD2 and follows it closely, but it is limited by the different standards and implementations of the banks.
You call it with an access token from PayoutID, on behalf of a user (authorization code grant) or as your own application (client credentials grant). These scopes are available:
| Scope | Allows |
|---|---|
BLAISP |
Reading the user's bank accounts: account list, details, balances and transactions |
BLIBAN |
Verifying that the user has access to a bank account |
BLPISP |
Creating payments on behalf of the user |
Each endpoint in the Banklink API reference lists the scope it requires. How the user authorizes your application is described in Banklink authorization.
The diagram below shows a request for account details; the other calls work the same way. The OAuth2 authorization code flow is left out, see PayoutID OAuth2. The only exception is List accounts: it returns the accounts stored in Banklink without contacting the bank, so there is no strong customer authentication (SCA) between the user and the bank.
The Banklink API also offers IBAN ownership verification.
